Kitties for Dummies (ESP / ENG)

Hace días una gatita callejera se hospedó en mi cochera e hizo la gracia de reproducirse aquí mismo. En mi casa somos súper amantes de los gatos y tenemos 2 que viven dentro de la casa y con la gata que llegó 2 más que alimentamos de la calle, sumándole los recién nacidos hacen un total de 8 gatos, por lo que nos vimos en la necesidad de regalar a los pequeños a familias que estuvieran dispuestas a cuidarlos. Da la casualidad de que estos Cat Lovers son inexpertos y saben muy poco sobre el cuidado de los gatitos, por lo que ahora dedico este post con cosas básicas para quienes son padres primerizos de gatitos.

Few days ago a stray kitten get in my garage and made the joke to have babies right here. My family is a super cat lover, we have 2 kitties living in the house, one more in the street and the newest kitty, adding newborns make a total of 8 cats, so we needed to give them to families who were willing to care for them. Casually, these Cat Lovers are inexperienced and know little about the care of the kittens, so now I dedicate this whole post to talk about the basic stuff of having a kitty to help them other people who could need it in the future.

Al Inicio
1. Si ya sabes que próximamente llegará tu nueva mascota, asegúrate de tener comida suficiente y adecuada para su especie.

2. Consigue una cama y una caja de arena (con arena para gatos obviamente).

3. Instintivamente los bebés buscan a sus madres, por lo que en ocasiones tendrás que dormir con tu mascota para darle el calor que busca, si lo prefieres puedes darle un peluche para que lo abrace.

4. Nunca está demás tener algunos juguetes exclusivos para tu gatito.

At the beginning
1. If you know that your new pet is goint to arrive, make sure you have enough and adequate food for their species.

2. Get a bed and a litter box (with cat litter obviously).

3. Instinctively babies look for their mothers, sometimes they have to sleep with you feel warm, if you prefer you can give it a teddy.

4. You could buy some exclusive toys for your kitten.

Segunda Fase
1. Ahora que tu gatito está completamente instalado en tu casa, deberás hacerle una visita al veterinario para que lo desparasite y le ponga las vacunas correspondientes. Además podrás preguntarle todas tus dudas sobre el cuidado y comportamiento de tu mascota.

2. Cuando los gatos comienzan a crecer, también empiezan a explorar la vivienda; subirse a los muebles y arañarlos. Para marcar las zonas prohibidas basta con espantarlos o decirles NOOO, en caso de que el animal sea muy desobediente puedes comprar productos especiales cuyo olor les molestará y ya no querrán estar ahí. También es importante conseguirles un rascador vertical.

3. Cepilla regularmente a tu gato con un cepillo especial de cerdas de acero (lo venden el las tiendas de mascota).

4. A partir de los 4 meses, tu gato estará listo para ser esterilizado. Con esto evitarás que haya más gatos deambulando en las calles, además de que se previenes que empiece a marcar (orinarse) por toda la casa y a darse escapadas nocturnas, o en el caso de las hembras visitas de otros gatos a tu casa.

Second stage 
1. Now that your kitten is fully installed in your home, you should visit the vet to deworming your cat and put it the corresponding vaccines. You can also ask everything about the care and behavior of your pet. 

2. When cats are growing they also begin to explore the housing; climbing on furniture and scratching. To mark the forbbiden zones, simply scare it or say NOOO, if the animal is very disobedient, you can buy special products whose smell bother them and no longer want to be there. It is also important to get them a vertical scraper. 

3. Brush the hair of your cat regularly with a special steel bristle brush (which is sold at pet stores). 

4. At the 4th month your cat is ready to be sterilized. This way you avoid that there are more cats wandering at the streets and you prevent that begin dialing (making pi) around the house and the nocturnal escapades, in case of females being visited by other cats in your home.
 

Tips generales
-No le des leche constantemente a tu gato porque puede enfermarse del estómago, esto sólo les beneficia cuando son cachorros o si las hembras acaban de dar a luz.

-Los gatos no suelen arañar a sus dueños a menos que se asusten o estén muy enojados. Cuando son pequeños no son conscientes de sus garritas y pueden lastimarte sin la intención de hacerlo.

-Dale mucho amor a tu mascota y el te lo regresará aumentado por mil

General Tips
-Don't give milk often to your cat because it can have stomachache, this only benefits them as puppies or females just given birth.

-Cats not likely to scratch their owners unless they are very angry or scared. When they are small they are unaware of their little claws and can hurt you without pretending to do so.

-Give lots of love to your pet and you will return increased by thousand.

Estos consejos están basados en mi experiencia propia y en los consejos que me han dado expertos y otros amantes de los gatos, pueden funcionar para otras mascotas, son libres de diferir de mi opinión, esto es totalmente personal.

These tips are based on my own experience and the advice given to me some experts and other cat lovers, can work for other pets, you are free to differ from my opinion, this is totally personal.
